The toolkit

Everything the book promises, in one download. Free, and nothing to sign up for.

Download

Download the toolkit (zip, 41 KB) Nine sheets, three prompts, two tools.
Unzip it, then open README.md.

Not sure where to begin? The appendix of the book opens with a stage by stage checklist: which sheet, and when. Start there rather than at the top of the list below.

What is inside

Each file also downloads on its own.

Sheets

Open in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets. The first block is the one you fill in; the blocks below it are the rules.

Prompts

Plain text. Paste into whichever model you use, then change them until they are yours.

Tools

Nothing you type into either one is uploaded.

Comfortable with a terminal? The zip also holds a Python version of the CV audit with its config file, the drill's demo questions, and a small local server. They do the same jobs; nobody needs them.

Using the two tools

Interview drill. Open it here, in Chrome or Edge. The browser asks for the microphone once and remembers. Your library stays in your browser, and nothing you type is uploaded. If you answer out loud, the browser sends your voice to its speech service to turn it into text.

The copy in the zip works offline by double-clicking, but a file on disk cannot keep permission, so the browser asks for the microphone on every question. Typing works either way. Each copy keeps its own library: move questions between them with Export CSV and Import CSV.

CV audit. Open it here and drop your .docx on it. Your file is read inside the browser tab and never uploaded. Before the first run, replace the placeholder phrases with the ones you keep reaching for, and list every company you have tailored a CV for. The page remembers both.

For terminal users, the same checks in Python: edit tools/cv-audit.config.json, then python3 tools/cv-audit.py my-cv.docx. For the drill, python3 tools/serve.py serves it locally so the microphone is asked once.

Optional: hear when the prompts change

The prompts age faster than anything else here. Leave an email and I will write when they change. That is the only email you will get, and you do not need it to use anything above.

Thank you. You will hear from me when the prompts change, and not otherwise.

The form is handled by FormSubmit, which forwards your address to me by email. To be taken off the list, reply to any message and say so.
